This Sunday is a great time to establish your personal and family routine of giving the Lord the first part of your week in worship and meeting together with God’s family. The kids are back in school and it’s a time of fresh beginnings. AWANA started last night, and you’ll want to have your children involved in this super exciting time with the Word of God and team games. We’ve just begun our journey through The Book of Revelation and you don’t want to miss a single message!
This Sunday in our Study of Revelation we will begin to look at the Seven Churches mentioned in Revelation 2-3. Each of the messages to the churches have a three-fold meaning: primary, personal, and prophetic. The primary association has a local and direct bearing upon the church to which it was written. The personal application is for us today, as their message also applies to every Christian. Then, each church individually and the churches combined set forth prophetic anticipation as we look forward to the Rapture of the Church. The problems that took place in these churches are the same problems that the Church faces today. The first church addressed is the church at Ephesus. It was the first one on the pastoral route but also the most prominent church of the seven. This was the mother church out of whose ministry the other six churches were started (Acts 19:10). The contents of this letter form a pattern for the letters to the other six churches. This Sunday we will be looking at how the Church at Ephesus lost its first love.
Join us as we begin this study, not only in our Sunday worship services, but in our Bible Study classes at 8:45 am. We will begin to unlock these truths and see how they can be applied to our lives and the Church. I encourage you to come and join a Bible study group for this study of the Book of The Revelation. Susan Lovett is teaching the ladies, Sylvester Bracey is teaching the men, and Dave Roper is teaching the couple’s class. There are classes available for your children as well. See the Welcome desk for specific locations for each class.
Stay after the worship service and join us for our Fellowship Meal of Beef Brisket and Roasted Chicken. You’re always welcome to bring something delicious to share, or pitch in and help with the set up of the tables and chairs, the serving of the food or the clean up. Many hands make light work!
Can’t wait to see you Sunday!
Jesus is Awesome!
