Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,

And His truth endures to all generations.

-Psalm 100

THANKSGIVING is my favorite holy day (holiday)!  I’m glad for its historical significance, but more than being an American tradition, I think the Biblical importance is so special for followers of Jesus.  It’s true that we are to “give thanks in everything” (I Thessalonians 5:18) and that we should be thankful people every day of the year.  Still, I love the idea of setting aside a special day for God’s people to stop the busyness and come into the Lord’s presence with singing, shouting, reflection, praise and thanksgiving!   Don’t let the devil steal this opportunity with the details of preparing the feast, all the shopping frenzy, or the endless football.  Purpose to be a Mary, sitting at Jesus’ feet, and not a Martha, burdened with all the responsibilities of life,  and take some time to both privately and publicly give God thanks for all the good things He has done!

This Sunday, we’ll begin a series of messages about the joy of Christmas.  We begin with the Fear Nots of Christmas.  Join us for Bible study at 8:45 and Worship at 10:00.

For our Fellowship Meal, we take a break from all the holiday food and have hamburgers and roasted chicken.  We ask YOU to bring your favorite dish to share.   Thank you for pitching in and helping with the set up of the tables and chairs, the serving of the food or the clean up.  Many hands make light work!

See you Sunday!
Jesus is Awesome!

Love,
Pastor Danny Lovett
