DANNY LOVETT

DANNY LOVETT

Senior Pastor

Bio: Danny and Susan started life and ministry together in 1981.  They have three grown children and two grandchildren.   When they met, Danny was the pastor of Open Door Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he served for twelve and a half years.  Danny moved the family to Lynchburg, Virginia and directed the pastoral training program at Liberty University as the Dean of the Seminary while Susan taught in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department until 2005.  At that time, Danny and Susan headed south to Chattanooga, Tennessee where he served as the President of Tennessee Temple University and pastor of Highland Park Baptist Church.  Now, they begin a new adventure in Birmingham, Alabama, at the Church at Chelsea-Westover.  This burden and dream for a church plant along the growing 280 corridor was sparked by David and Christie Wilson, Servpro owners and former church members at Open Door Baptist Church.  The core group is growing together in love and fellowship, praying for God’s plan to be accomplished through His people in the Chelsea-Westover area.  The Shelby County Baptist Association, Alabama Baptists and the North American Mission Board are jointly supporting this new church plant!

DAVID WILSON

DAVID WILSON

1955-2017

David served as the Church Administrator for the Church at Chelsea-Westover.  He and his wife Christie were instrumental in using what God had blessed them with to start the Church at Chelsea-Westover at their Servpro Regional Training Center in Westover, Alabama.  David came to believe a very long time that he is a follower of Christ (Christian) who happened to own his own business. Thus he was a “Christian” businessman.  God has given the Wilson’s a tremendous platform in Servpro to proclaim His gospel. He has been able to broaden that opportunity by serving the Lord in the Church Administrator capacity at the Church at Chelsea-Westover.

David counted it a privilege and honor to serve the Lord and his people in this capacity.

RENAE NEELEY

RENAE NEELEY

AWANA Director

Bio: I was raised in a very loving Christian home and saved at the age of 5.  I am very thankful for my Godly parents that raised me to be who I am today.  As a teenager I felt God calling me to serve him, but I wasn’t sure how or where he wanted me to go.  I just knew I wanted to be in God’s will.  After I graduated high school I went to the University of Montevallo to get my degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education.  After I obtained my degree and married Jason, I never felt satisfied when I talked about teaching.  When a position came open at our church for a Preschool and Children’s Director, I finally knew what God had in store for me!  For the next 10 years I served at North Shelby Baptist Church where I learned a great deal about my abilities in leading children to know God’s love. After my 10 ten years of ministry at this church, I felt God leading me to pursue a new place to serve.  I am so thankful that my whole family and I can serve here at CCW together. We can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for us.  The Lord definitely has His hand on this church!

 BOB MCKAY

BOB MCKAY

Church Council

Born into a Christian family.  Both grandfathers were pastors.  Grew up in Japan as a missionary kid.  Got “saved” many times growing up.  But it never became real.  Was not a Christian when I came to Birmingham.  Did not want to come to Alabama in fact but was desperate for a job.  I came to help build a church.  That was the last place I wanted to be.  While working on the job with the pastor, he presented the gospel in such a way that it made sense.  I got saved in November of 1976 and have been growing ever since.
